Carter Jenkins – President
Carter is a 15-year-old honor student at JSerra Catholic High School. He is the founder and President of Students For Safe Water. He is a current and founding student member of the non-profit organization, GuysGivNback, a volunteer group. Moved by a you-tube video that showed children drinking polluted water, he formed Students for Safe Water. He hopes to make a difference.

Jeffrie Jimenez – Vice President
Jeffrie is a graduate of UCLA Law School and has a Bachelors degree in Social Ecology. She is a licensed, member of the California Bar. Currently a stay-home mother of three, she is actively involved at her children’s school, and volunteers with various charitable organizations. While in practice, she prosecuted and defended a wide array of legal claims, including employment, catastrophic injury, and defect litigation. In addition, Jeffrie was the Editor of Verdicts and Settlement, a weekly paper within the Los Angeles Daily Journal. Jeffrie also taught Legal Research and Writing, Professional Responsibility and Trial Advocacy at Whittier and Trinity Law Schools.

Laila Santana – Treasurer
Laila is the Director of Professional Construction Claims for Caitlin, Inc. She joined Caitlin with 20 years experience in the claims/legal profession. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University’s School of Law, and is a licensed attorney in California. Prior to joining Caitlin, Laila served as Regional Claim Manager and Executive Claims Counsel at XL Insurance. During her years as a senior litigator, she defended cases involving construction defect, medical and real estate e/o allegations, toxic tort environmental issues and catastrophic injuries. Laila has authored and coauthored numerous articles designed to educate and control risks and is a speaker at industry-related conferences and seminars.

Janeth Montoya McDonough – Secretary
Janeth earned her Bachelors degree in Human Services from Fullerton State, as well as an AA in Child Development. She has worked for the Regional Center of Orange County since 1999. She is a caseworker responsible for coordinating services for and advocating on behalf of developmentally disabled persons. Having immigrated from Columbia in 1981, she became a US Citizen in 1983. She is a valuable asset to Student For Safe Water’s board as she is familiar with the water issues facing those in developing nations.
